World domination postponed: the simulator of the construction of the villainous base Evil Genius 2 was postponed to 2021
Rebellion co-founders Chris Kingsley and Jason Kingsley have reached out to players regarding the relocation of the studio’s next project, Evil Genius 2: World Domination.
Until recently, the release was expected during 2020, but due to circumstances beyond the control of the developers, the premiere of the villainous strategy had to be postponed to the first half of 2021.
“We originally planned to release Evil Genius 2 this year. However, the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the transfer of the studio to work from home, and the adaptation to the new way of life all contributed to this difficult decision, “ Kingsley explained.
The delay, according to the developers, will benefit the game: “We want to release a sequel that will be worthy of the legacy of the franchise and be as loved by the Evil Genius community as the original. “
Rebellion is not ready to sacrifice the quality of the game or the health of employees for the sake of deadlines. However, the studio has promised to announce a final release date for Evil Genius 2: World Domination as soon as possible.
Over the coming months, the studio will talk about the upcoming closed beta and show “a lot, a lot of new things” about Evil Genius 2: World Domination. In the meantime, the Kingsleys expressed their gratitude to the community for their support and trust.
Evil Genius 2: World Domination is being developed for PC ( Steam ). Rebellion promises to create its secret lair on the island paradise, build a doomsday device, and even melt Alaska.
