Cooperation is also being discussed with other companies
Xiaomi, which has decided to start producing its cars, is discussing this issue with several automakers, including Brilliance and Chery, as informed by Bloomberg.
Earlier, in August this year, Xiaomi also held talks with Beijing Automotive Group Co. about potential cooperation in the production of electric vehicles. Xiaomi declined to comment. Representatives for Brilliance Auto and Chery did not respond to Bloomberg’s calls and email requests for comment.

Xiaomi is still working to obtain the relevant approvals from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which sanctions the production of electric vehicles. Discussions with automakers are ongoing and it is not yet known exactly with whom Xiaomi will ultimately agree.
Xiaomi co-founder Lei Jun has pledged to invest about $10 billion to make electric vehicles a reality for the company. He still hopes to introduce the first electric car next year.
According to Bloomberg, this initiative by Xiaomi could slow its profit growth over the next two years.
