According to Ross Young, the Xiaomi foldable smartphone will be released under the name Mi Mix 4 Pro Max. On the one hand, this seems unexpected, since only monoblocks and sliders were presented in this line. On the other hand, this is quite logical, given that the company is always experimenting with new technologies in the Xiaomi Mi Mix line.
In addition, he reports that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 Pro Max display is supplied by China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT), a subsidiary of TCL. Earlier it was reported that the screens for the first foldable Xiaomi smartphones will be supplied by Samsung. The analyst confirms that Samsung Display will supply foldable screens to Xiaomi in the future for another smartphone.
Xiaomi first showed off a working prototype of a foldable smartphone back in early 2019, but the Chinese manufacturer hasn’t released a commercial device in two years.
