Lu Weibing, who serves as President of Xiaomi Group China and CEO of Redmi, wrote a very short note on the Weibo social network. It contains only one phrase – “October will be very interesting” – but local media saw in this a hint of an important event.
Xiaomi President hints at the imminent announcement of the Xiaomi 14 line
This event is the official premiere of the new generation flagships – Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. The devices have already been certified by various Chinese regulators, so there is formal permission for their release in the Middle Kingdom. If the premiere really takes place in October, then Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro could become the world’s first devices based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The premiere of the single-chip system itself is expected on the first day of Snapdragon Summit 2023, starting on October 24.
In addition to the new Qualcomm SoC, new products should receive improved screens and cameras, as well as faster charging. Xiaomi 14 Pro is also credited with a titanium frame.
