Jon Stewart to media: Stop whining about Trump

Jon Stewart visited “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Monday to talk about the Trump administration

The former host of "The Daily Show" stopped by CBS' "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Monday night to deliver an nearly 10-minute rant about President Trump and his contentious relationship with the press. And he uses it a lot.

Stewart ended his tirade with an attack on the media and its reaction to Trump's brash handling of the relationship. "I heard Donald Trump broke up with you", he said, addressing the press directly. "Stings a little, doesn't it?"

"I missed this", Stewart admitted when Colbert teased him about why he'd traveled from his farm in New Jersey to the Late Show's set in NY, before getting down to the business of calling out Trump's ongoing willingness to distort the truth. Kick him to the curb!

Amid cheering from the studio audience, Stewart continued, "It is time for you to get your groove back, media". Make a little time to work on yourself.

"Take up a hobby", Stewart said. "This breakup has given you an incredible opportunity for self-reflection and improvement".

"I don't think that's true", Stewart said.

"I finally thought you met your match", he says.

"I can't believe the guy has the balls to get away with that", he said. Oh, snap! Well, Stephen definitely wasn't wrong, seeing as Democrats in Congress actually went so far as to give Trump the LITERAL thumbs down when he called Obamacare a "disaster".

Stewart ran through a few false claims from Trump's old press conference before Colbert threw him another prompt: "The president exaggerates; that's true".

Stewart is an executive producer of The Late Show and has appeared on the show a couple times since Colbert took over as host in September 2015.

"Just like the Statue of Liberty says, "Give us your exhausted, your poor, but not so poor they can't afford a two bedroom apartment", Colbert snarked.

With his nightly satirical digs at the current USA administration, Stephen Colbert has been leading the late-night comedy resistance against Donald Trump. The only way to fight back is with good journalism and solid facts, rather than trying to prove who has more integrity by insistence alone.

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs on CBS weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET.

HollywoodLifers, what did you think of the Late Show's special live broadcast after Trump's speech?
