11 bit studios talks about 3 million copies of Frostpunk sold and the success of their games on Steam
Frostpunk, a city-building simulator about community survival in a frozen world, turns three this month. As the developers from the Polish studio 11 bit told, the game’s sales exceeded 3 million copies during this time. They also released the soundtrack for The Last Autumn and On The Edge DLCs and shared interesting facts about their projects.
The soundtrack to two named DLC includes fourteen compositions from Peter Musyaly (Piotr Musiał), who also worked on the music for This War of Mine, and additions Bulletstorm “Blood and wine» ( Blood and Wine ) to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. For those who subscribe to add-ons, it is free, and the rest are now offered with a 40% discount on Steam (for 48 rubles) and in GOG (for 49 rubles). The tracks are also available on the 11 bit YouTube channel and Spotify. Later the collection will be released on vinyl – pre-order is already open.

In Frostpunk, players take on the ruler of the last city on Earth, deserted after a new ice age. The survival of society depends on their decisions. Each time users are faced with a difficult choice between saving resources and meeting the needs of people, developing the city itself, and saving the fate of individual settlers.
Frostpunk was released on April 24, 2018, for PC (Windows). In October 2019, the game appeared on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and in February 2021 – on macOS. In 2018, the simulator received a free scenario, “The Fall of Winterhome,” and an endless mode (Endless Mode), and later – three paid DLC (“The Rifts,” as well as the aforementioned “Last Autumn” and ” On the edge”). The base game has a Metacritic rating of 84/100 and has “very positive” reviews on Steam (90% of all reviews over 52,000 are positive).
In the fall of 2020, the developers completed a Kickstarter campaign for the Frostpunk board game. The authors raised the requested € 200,000 in less than an hour. The fundraising ended at around € 2.5 million. Contributors are expected to receive Frostpunk: The Board Game in October 2021.
On April 20, 11 bit launched a sale of its projects on Steam. Until April 26, three sets of games can be purchased with discounts up to 90%. Among them are Frostpunk, This War of Mine, Children of Morta, and the Anomaly series.
