Lava Connect M1: Spreadtrum is a Chinese fabless semiconductor company. They produce chipsets for mobile phones. Lava decided to release its first ever 4G enables feature phone – Lava Connect M1, and it uses the LTE SoC platform, SC9820 in the device. This is the world’s first feature phone chipset.
The Spreadtrum Communications company which is the fabless semiconductor said that the Lava deployed LTE SoC (System On Chip) enabled the first 4G-enabled featurephone named Lava Connect M1.
Noida-based handset maker has launched its 4G phone in the Indian market in February, 2017, powered by Spreadtrum’s 28nm 1.2GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A7 LTE platform SC9820 that supports VoLTE (voice over LTE) and dual SIM capability.
The feature phone relies on the Spreadtrum’s 28nm 1.2GHz dual-core ARM Cortex™-A7 LTE platform SC9820. The Lava Connect M1 has a dual sim and supports VoLTE. It has an internal memory of 4 GB and 512MB of RAM. It also has an expandable memory up to 32 GB. The Lava Connect M1 will support TDD-LTE, FDD-LTE, GSM modes and GPRS connectivity. The display of the screen is around 2.5 inches, and the battery is a 1750 mAh. The camera specification is as 5-megapixel rear/front camera, and it also supports 720P video display.
The 4G mobile handset has already been released in February 2017. Spreadtrum is taking this chance to render their service to the traditional operators to move from 2G and 3G network to 4G.
