2021 will see Windows running on PC right from the cloud

Microsoft plans to launch a new cloud service called Cloud PC next year, based on Azure technologies, according to online sources. It is assumed that the new cloud service “desktop as a service” may become available to corporate customers in the spring of next year.

The source notes that the Cloud PC service will not replace a locally installed Windows OS, at least for the foreseeable future. The service will mainly target customers who want to use their computers as thin clients with Windows, Office, and possibly other software supplied by Microsoft.

Information about the new cloud service came from a job posting on Microsoft’s website that the company is looking for a Cloud PC project manager. And although the job description does not reveal the essence of the project is too much detail, you can still understand something from it.

“ Microsoft Cloud PC is a new strategic offering based on Windows Virtual Desktop to deliver Desktop as a Service. Essentially, Cloud PC will provide business customers with a modern, flexible, and cloud-based Windows experience and enable organizations to follow current trends in a simplified and scalable manner, ”the job description says.

The Cloud PC service will be based on the Microsoft 365 platform and Azure technologies. The service will be operated by Microsoft, and it will be possible to interact with it at a fixed price per user. When exactly Microsoft intends to launch the Cloud PC service is still unknown. Company representatives declined to comment on this issue.
