Owners of Final Fantasy XIV on PlayStation 4 will access the PlayStation 5 version and connect to the same servers other users play on. In terms of functionality, testers will have no limitations. For those who do not have a copy of the game, a free trial will be available. Users will be able to pump up to level 60, go through the A Realm Reborn part and the Heavensward expansion.

On PlayStation 5, Final Fantasy XIV will have several picture modes to choose from 4K, 1440p, and 1080p. The latter two will support performance in the 60fps region. In 4K, the frequency will be about 40 frames per second. Square Enix warned that performance could drop in crowded places, but even then, users will see a steady 30fps.

The interface resolution has also been increased – initially, it was created for 720p. To solve this problem, artificial intelligence was used, which raised the quality of images of objects, equipment, abilities, and other interface elements. The font resolution has also been increased.

Finally, Square Enix plans to gradually release graphical updates for the PS5 version of the game with high-resolution textures and effects.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available on PC and PlayStation 4.
