OnePlus will retain the “x-ray” vision of OnePlus 8 Pro on all smartphones except Chinese

It turns out that the so-called “X-ray” mode will be disabled only in Chinese smartphones with HydrogenOS firmware. Users of smartphones with OxygenOS firmware in the rest of the world will not be deprived of this function.

Many users and the media found that using this filter you can take unique photos that allow you to look through some materials. We believe that this camera gives users the opportunity to be creative in taking pictures with their smartphone, but we also understand the problems that have been raised. Therefore, we are already working on an update that will disable this feature. We decided to temporarily disable this filter in HydrogenOS because of the precaution against false and misleading information shared on social networks in China. However, we do not plan to disable this filter in OxygenOS, our global operating system. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

It is also reported that in the near future the company will offer Chinese users an updated filter.
