This is the highest rate in six years.

This year, the smartphone market has stood out by the fact that most of the flagships are pretty expensive. For top-end devices, Xiaomi and OnePlus are already asking for not $ 600, but about 1000, and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra in the USA, excluding taxes, will cost an incredible $ 1,400.

At Samsung, the average selling price of a smartphone has grown significantly. In the first quarter, she almost reached $ 300

According to a source, at least for Samsung, all this turned out to be a significant increase in the average selling price of a smartphone. More precisely, the indicator for the first quarter was the highest in the last six years.

So, in the last quarter, the average selling price of the Samsung smartphone reached $ 292, which is 8.5% more than a year earlier and 20.7% more than a quarter earlier. It is not yet clear how the year will end in general, but in 2019 the average selling price of a Samsung smartphone was $ 247.

The situation as a whole is caused not only by the rise in the price of flagships but also by the presence in the assortment of Samsung of very expensive flexible smartphones. And already in August, there will be even more of them, but it’s better not to think about the possible prices for the Galaxy Note20 line.
