System76 Pangolin Linux laptop built on AMD Ryzen 4000U processor

System76 has announced the Pangolin laptop running an operating system with a Linux kernel: Pop! _OS 20.10, Pop! _OS 20.04 LTS and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS software platforms are available to choose from.

The “heart” of the laptop is the AMD processor: modifications with the Ryzen 7 4700U (eight cores; 2.0-4.1 GHz) and Ryzen 5 4500U (six cores; 2.3-4.0 GHz) chip will be offered. The amount of DDR4-3200 RAM can be up to 64 GB.

The novelty is equipped with a 15.6-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. The video subsystem uses the AMD Radeon Graphics accelerator. Through the HDMI interface, the image can be displayed on an external monitor or TV.

An M.2 solid-state drive is responsible for data storage. The laptop’s arsenal includes a Gigabit Ethernet network adapter, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 wireless controllers, stereo speakers, and a backlit keyboard. The set of connectors includes USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, USB 2.0 Type-A ports, and a microSD slot. Dimensions are 360 ​​× 239 × 19.9 mm, weight – 1.65 kg.

The System76 Pangolin Linux laptop will be available for an estimated price of $ 850.
