The price was lower than expected
The Roewe D7 NEV sedan from SAIC Group entered the Chinese market with a starting price of $17,300. This is $500 less than previously reported.
So, the plug-in hybrid (DMH – Dual Motor Hybrid) model starts at $17,300, while the 510km range electric car costs between $20,575 and $21,900, and the 610km range model starts at $23 $300 to $24,280.
The D7 DMH Hybrid will be equipped with a new two-motor DMH super hybrid system, providing a range of 125 km in electric mode and up to 1,400 km with a full tank. The thermal efficiency of the engine is more than 43%. Fuel consumption is 4.3 l/100 km.
The general appearance of both cars is the same. The electric car uses hidden door handles, while the hybrid model uses regular door handles. The dimensions of the electric vehicle are 4890 x 1872 x 1510 mm with a wheelbase of 2810 mm. The hybrid has a width of 1890 mm, other dimensions are the same.
A new Roewe D7 NEV sedan was released in China
According to Roewe, the new sedan has a trunk volume of 447 liters, while the second row can comfortably accommodate tall passengers. The cabin uses a dual-screen layout consisting of a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel and a 12.3-inch central control screen with a MediaTek SoC.
Roewe is a passenger car brand that is part of the SAIC group. It owns the brands MG, Maxus, IM and Rising. SAIC is also part of the joint venture SGMW, which produces Wuling Bingo, Hogguang Mini EV, Baojun Yep, etc. In China, the Shanghai-based automaker also produces Volkswagen, Buick, Cadillac and other cars.
