Update for Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 spreads in Europe
Samsung sometimes does amazing things when compared to other Android device manufacturers. And if for smartphones sudden updates happen many years after release from time to time, then for tablets it is much rarer.
A unique event for the Android world: Samsung tablet gets updates six years after the release
This time, an almost unique event took place by the standards of the “Android world” – a tablet released more than six years ago received an update. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S ( review ), which was released back in 2014.
Based on reviews online, the update has become available for the 8.4-inch variant of the Galaxy Tab S with model number SM-T700 and support for Wi-Fi networks (no cellular). The T700XXU1CTK1 firmware is now being distributed to users in Europe.
It is not yet clear what exactly the update, suddenly released by Samsung, brings. The last Android security update was released for this tablet at the end of 2018. However, the version of the security patch has not changed after installing the latest update.
