Huawei P60 will be the world’s first phone with a Sony IMX888 main sensor
An insider, known on the Weibo social network under the nickname Digital Chat Station, revealed the parameters of the main camera of the promising flagship Huawei P60. The main camera will reportedly have a Sony IMX888 sensor. It has not yet been officially introduced, so the Huawei P60 will probably be the first smartphone in the world with such a sensor.
Sony has one inch sensor so far – IMX989. Obviously, the optical format of the IMX888 will be smaller. Probably 1/1.3″ like the 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
If earlier it was said about the possibility of using the Sony IMX789 sensor in the P60, now there is no talk of it: a 50-megapixel IMX858 sensor will be installed in the module with an ultra-wide-angle lens. Finally, the third sensor will be the 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B. In the module with it, a lens will be installed that provides an optical zoom of 3.5x.
An insider said that he was able to get acquainted with the P60 prototype. He noted that the main module of the flagship will have a lens with a variable aperture.
Previously, Digital Chat Station was the first to accurately announce the specifications and release dates of Redmi K50 and Xiaomi 12.
