Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) has prepared a report on the OLED folding panel market. In their opinion, the supply of such panels in the coming years will grow steadily. This will be facilitated by lower prices as production volumes increase, lower prices for finished devices and increase the reliability of folding displays.
According to DSCC, supply of folding OLED panels in six years will grow from 5 million to 77 million
DSCC expects shipments of devices with OLED folding screens to begin to grow in the second half of this year. In 2020, about 5 million devices with folding screens (mainly smartphones) worth nearly $ 1 billion will be released. Between 2020 and 2025, the supply of folding displays will grow by an average of 132% per year. If this forecast comes true, in 2025 77 million units will be shipped folding displays. In monetary terms, the market will reach almost $ 8 billion, which corresponds to an average annual growth of 113%. Gradually, tablets and laptops with folding displays will be added to smartphones with folding displays.
