The megapixel race enters a new round
According to rumours, next year Canon will release a 90MP camera, and Sony – 102MP
Sony is rumoured to release an E-mount camera capable of shooting 8K video. Canon is credited with intending to release the 90MP EOS-R5s. This camera will have a Pixel Shift Shooting mode that will produce images with a resolution of 300 megapixels. Perhaps Sony will respond with the release of the high-resolution Sony A7rV, for which the manufacturer has a suitable 102MP full-frame sensor. It allows you to shoot 6K videos. Preliminary sensor specs were leaked in 2019, and in this case, the source implies an improved version of this product.
However, it is not yet clear if the Sony A7rV camera will be released in 2021. The source is more confident that there are plans to release the A9III (or A9r) and A7IV models.
