Acer debuts rugged Intel Jasper Lake Chromebook Spin 511 and 512 laptops

Acer has announced new laptop computers running the Chrome OS operating system, the Chromebook Spin 511 and the Chromebook Spin 512, designed specifically for students.

Laptops are built on the Intel Jasper Lake hardware platform: they can be equipped with a Pentium Silver or Celeron processor. The amount of RAM reaches 8 GB, the capacity of the flash drive is 64 GB.

The computers are made in a ruggedized case in accordance with the MIL-STD 810H standard. They are not afraid of drops from a height of up to 1.2 meters, and the keyboard is protected from accidental spills. The display is protected from damage by durable Corning Gorilla Glass.

The Chromebook Spin 511 features an 11.6-inch 16: 9 HD touchscreen, while the Chromebook Spin 512 features a 12-inch HD + 3: 2 panel. Both Chromebooks have a display lid that can rotate 360 ​​degrees, allowing them to be used as tablets.

There are Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless adapters, a front camera, a rear camera with an 8-megapixel sensor, USB 3.2 Type-C and Type-A ports. The declared battery life on one recharge of the battery reaches 10 hours.

The Chromebook Spin 511 and Chromebook Spin 512 will go on sale in March at prices ranging from 32741.87 and 35403.81 rupees, respectively.
