Acer Spin 7 becomes the first laptop with ARM-based Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G processor

Acer has timed to coincide with IFA 2020, which kicked off in Germany today, September 3, the announcement of the world’s first laptop on the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G hardware platform. It was the Spin 7 convertible laptop of the new generation.

The Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G platform integrates eight Kryo 495 cores, an Adreno graphics accelerator, and a 5G modem. The latter provides the ability to download information at speeds up to 7 Gbit / s.

The Acer Spin 7 laptop is equipped with a 14-inch touchscreen display that can rotate 360 ​​degrees. Thanks to this, the device can be used as a tablet.

Supports finger control and a Wacom pen that recognizes up to 4096 levels of pressure. The durable Corning Gorilla Glass protects the screen from damage. The panel has a Full HD resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels.

It is known that a laptop is equipped with two USB Type-C ports and a USB Type-A port. The novelty is enclosed in a 13.9 mm thick case and weighs approximately 1.4 kg.

The operating system Windows 10 is installed on the laptop. The price and terms of the start of sales have not yet been disclosed.
