This will reduce the import fleet with dual registration to the same 84 boards.

Aeroflot Group, which includes the carrier of the same name and the Rossiya and Pobeda airlines, plans to remove 84 of its aircraft from foreign registers this year, reducing the import fleet with dual registration to the same 84 aircraft. This is stated in the annual report of the group, which Izvestia has read.

89 foreign Airbus and Boeing aircraft of Aeroflot were transferred only to the Aviation Register of the Russian Federation last year, as stated by the General Director of Aeroflot Airlines Sergey Aleksandrovsky earlier.

If the plans are realized, then the share of Aeroflot’s foreign fleet with registration only in Russia may reach 64.5% by the end of the year.

Most foreign aircraft of Russian airlines were issued until 2022 in Bermuda and Ireland. Since March last year and until today, 103 aircraft of the Aeroflot group have been removed from foreign registration. This year, the carrier managed to deregister another 14 aircraft.

Bermuda Air Regulatory Authority (BCAA) CEO Thomas Dunstan confirmed that today no aircraft is deregistered from the Bermuda register.

Experts believe that Western lessors are unlikely to meet Aeroflot halfway and allow additional ships to be de-registered. Therefore, Aeroflot can work out a large-scale program to buy them out from foreign lessors.
