Aeroflot Group has specified its plans for the purchase of aircraft. At a meeting with Vladimir Putin, the airline’s CEO, Sergei Aleksandrovsky, announced that the company plans to conclude a contract for the supply of 323 domestically produced aircraft.
“ We plan to contract a total of 323 domestic aircraft, of which 73 are Sukhoi Superjet, 210 MS-21 are imported aircraft in a new look with Russian engines, as well as 40 Tu-214 aircraft. These very significant volumes will, of course, require additional resources from us ,” Aleksandrovsky noted.
In June, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov stated that Aeroflot plans to soon sign a contract for the purchase of 300 MS-21, Tu-214 and Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. The exact number of aircraft has now been named.
In August, the head of the United Aircraft Corporation, Yuri Slyusar, reported that the parties had agreed on an approximate program for the supply of aircraft, and, according to him, the signing of the contract was expected in the near future. As Slyusar noted, the contract also includes the supply of Il-114 aircraft.
Also at a meeting with Putin, Aleksandrovsky said that in connection with the expansion of the fleet and the supply of a large number of domestic liners , the company will need to attract about 3.5 thousand additional pilots and eight full flight simulators.
