The all-electric compact sedan Aion S Max has been unveiled, which is an updated version of the Aion S. The new car was previously announced by Chinese regulator MIIT and is expected to go on sale on October 26 in China with a starting price of around $20,000.
The Aion S was the first model based on GAC New Energy’s exclusive second-generation electric platform, released in 2019. Then in 2021, the Aion S Plus variant was introduced. In general, the appearance of the Aion S Max has not changed much compared to the Aion S Plus. The closed front end features split headlights. In addition, a new blue exterior color will be available.
The popular hidden door handles and multi-spoke wheels are installed. Both 17-inch and 18-inch wheels will be offered. The car has narrow, through-type taillights, and the AION letter logo is located in the center, under the taillight strip.
Aion S Max sedan presented
The dimensions of the Aion S Max are 4810 × 1880 × 1515 mm with a wheelbase of 2750 mm. Power will be provided by a 244 hp permanent magnet synchronous motor. and a triple lithium battery, which will provide an electric range of up to 610 km. In addition, the car will be equipped with lidars and cameras. Aion S Max will receive advanced driving assistance features.
The car will receive a floating central control screen, an LCD instrument panel, and a three-spoke steering wheel with a cut-off lower part, as well as two wireless charging stations for smartphones.
