All Nokia smartphones that came with Android 9 will receive updates to Android 11

HMD Global has yet to update some devices to Android 10. However, the company has already shared its plans to update Nokia smartphones to Android 11 in a tweet that was later deleted. All devices released with Android 9 will receive the latest software.


Unfortunately, many older devices, such as the flagship Nokia 8 Sirocco and the budget Nokia 1, will not get Android 11. The oldest smartphone to receive the new version of Android will be the Nokia 8.1, introduced at the end of 2018. This device became the first Nokia smartphone with pre-installed Android 9 Pie.

The report also indicated that HMD Global has released 1,000 updates for Nokia smartphones over the past three years. Apparently, this figure takes into account security updates separately for each device. Since the tweet has been deleted, it is possible that some of the information is inaccurate or the company was not going to share information at this time.
