Almost the entire edition of Monster Hunter Rise sold out in Japanese retail before release
The Nintendo Soup portal, citing an unofficial Japanese blog Nintendo Switch, reported that demand for a physical version of Monster Hunter Rise began to exceed supply in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Monster Hunter games have always been top-rated in their homeland, and Monster Hunter Rise was no exception – pre-orders of the game were sold out in many retail stores.
In particular, the shortage of cartridges with Monster Hunter Rise ahead of release is observed in the Japanese Amazon, Edition, Animate, Geo Online Store, Hikari TV Shopping, and many other points.
For example, some retailers (among those mentioned, Edition) have already started accepting applications for the next installments of Monster Hunter Rise, but they are not expected until early April.
Earlier, the head of the Japanese studio Mark-On announced the release day of Monster Hunter Rise as a day off for all employees of his company – many employees still planned to take time off on this date.
On the territory of Russia, there is no such excitement around Monster Hunter Rise: retail copies of the game can be pre-ordered without any problems in the country’s main online stores.
Monster Hunter Rise will sell on March 26 this year for Nintendo Switch and appear on PC in early 2022. The average rating of the Switch version on the Metacritic website is 87 out of 100%.
