Amazon denies Parler hosting services – shutdown on January 11 at 10:59 am ET

After Google removed the Parler app from the Play Store, as well as Apple removed from the branded digital content store App Store, the problems of the American microblogging and social networking service did not end.

It became known that Amazon intends to disconnect Parler from its cloud services on Sunday, January 10, at 23:59 PST (at 10:59 on January 12 Moscow time). In an email, Amazon Web Services informed Parler’s director of policy, Amy Peikoff, that the social network continues to post “aggressive content” that violates AWS’s terms of service. Attempts by Parler to moderate content on its platform were considered insufficient by AWS and as a result, decided to move to “suspend Parler’s account”.

“ AWS provides technology and services to customers across the political spectrum, and we continue to respect Parler’s right to determine what content it will post on its site, ” the AWS letter said. – However, we cannot provide services to a customer who is unable to effectively identify and remove content that encourages or incites violence against others. Since Parler cannot comply with our terms of service and poses a real public safety risk, we plan to block Parler’s account on Sunday, January 10th at 11:59 pm PST. ” The letter states that AWS found 98 messages that “clearly encourage and incite violence

Although Google and Apple removed the Parler app from their app stores on Friday and Saturday, respectively, users can still sign in if they have already installed the app, or through Parler’s website. Amazon’s decision to stop hosting Parler effectively takes it offline if the company cannot find a new hosting provider.
