In the first games in autumn
AMD has just unveiled the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT graphics cards , as well as the full announcement of FSR 3 supersampling technology, which it nominally introduced at the beginning of the year.
FSR 3 follows in the footsteps of DLSS 3 and includes Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) frame generation technology. As a result, performance can be increased exponentially. For example, in the game Forspoken at 4K resolution with maximum graphics quality settings and active ray tracing without FSR 3, the performance on the Radeon RX 7900 XTX was only 36 fps, while with FSR 3 in Performance mode it increased to 122 fps. Of course, in Quality mode, performance will be lower, but still it is at a completely different level than without FSR.
AMD FSR 3 with frame generation technology will be available on Radeon, GeForce and Intel Arc graphics cards
FSR 3, like previous versions of AMD technology, will be conditionally supported by any video cards, including Nvidia and Intel adapters. Initially, FSR 3 will see Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum coming this fall. It is also already known for sure that the technology will be added later in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Cyberpunk 2077, Space Marine 2, Frostpunk 2, The Alters, Squad, Starship Troopers: Extermination, Black Myth: Wukong and Crimson Desert and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
AMD also said that Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) frame generation technology in 2024 will be integrated into the driver in such a way that it can be activated in any or almost any game with DirectX 11 and DirectX 12. But in this case, the technology will be part of the software HYPR-RX package, which works only with the Radeon RX 7000. Also, it should be borne in mind that such an implementation of AFMF will be inferior in quality to the full integration of FSR 3 with AFMF into the game by the developers themselves.
