Probably thanks to Steam Deck

The latest Steam stats show that AMD continues to take share from Intel at an incredible pace when it comes to CPU usage for the Steam client. But in this case, this is true only for Linux.

The share of AMD CPUs literally in February was 55%, and now it is already more than 67% and has grown by almost 8 percentage points in just a month. Most likely, this trend is due to the excellent sales of the Steam Deck console, which is just based on AMD APUs. And there are more and more other similar consoles on the market, and the lion’s share of them is based on Ryzen processors.

If we talk about Windows, here AMD holds a share of 32%, and there have been no significant changes lately (apart from a strange jump in March).

As for the video cards, there are no special changes. Formally, the GTX 1650 is in the lead, but in fact the RTX 3060 is in the lead, since before the RTX 30 line, the Steam system considered mobile and desktop adapters of the same model together, and now separately. The only thing that can be singled out is the growing share of the latest RTX 40 accelerators. The leader here is the RTX 4060 Laptop with a share of 0.81%, and among desktops, the RTX 4070 Ti became the most common with a share of 0.62%. Interestingly, the share of the RTX 4090 is higher than that of the RTX 4080 or RTX 4070.
