Ryzen 9 7945HX3D Should Get 16 Cores, 128MB L3 Cache
AMD looks set to release Ryzen X3D mobile processors with 3D V-Cache memory. Various websites and retailers point to the existence of the Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 (G733PYV-LL046W) laptop, which will be based on the unannounced Ryzen 9 7945HX3D processor.
Since the Ryzen 7000HX models are technically copies of the regular desktop Ryzen 7000s, the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D should be a copy of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, only with different frequencies and power limits. Simply put, the company does not need to develop any new CPU, it only needs to adapt the existing desktop one for mobile tasks.
AMD will release its unique processors for laptops as well.
That is, we are talking about 16 cores with SMT support and 128 MB of third-level cache. There are no data on frequencies yet, but the Ryzen 9 7950X3D operates at frequencies of 4.2-5.7 GHz, and the Ryzen 9 7945HX operates at frequencies of 2.5-5.4 GHz. By the way, we recall that X3D processors differ from their conventional models in that they consume significantly less energy, which is quite important in the mobile segment.
It is not yet clear when the specified laptop will hit the market, whether there will be other X3D models in the mobile segment, and whether the same Ryzen 9 7945HX3D will appear in laptops from other manufacturers.
