An Acer Aspire 5 laptop powered by an unannounced Ryzen 7 5700U processor appears in the Italian Amazon

An Acer Aspire 5 laptop was discovered in the Italian Amazon, which is based on the unannounced AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor of the new family of Lucienne mobile hybrid chips. At first, the store put up a price of 779 euros for the new product but later removed it.

The new Ryzen 5000 (Vermeer) Zen 3 desktop processors have just gone on sale. However, according to rumors, AMD is also going to introduce new families of Cezanne and Lucienne mobile processors early next year. At the same time, the former, like the desktop Vermeer, will use the Zen 3 architecture, and the latter – Zen 2. It is assumed that both families of future mobile processors will act under the common Ryzen 5000 brand.

The Italian Amazon indicates that the Acer Aspire 5 model A515-45-R2J2 is equipped with a 15.6-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and 512GB NVMe storage. The novelty is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U mobile hybrid processor.

The store does not provide information on the technical characteristics of the central processor, but according to earlier leaks, it is known that the Ryzen 7 5700U is an eight-core and 16-thread Lucienne chip (Zen 2) with a base frequency of 1.8 GHz and a Boost frequency of 4, 3 GHz. It is also known that all AMD Ryzen 5000 mobile chips will use onboard graphics based on the GCN architecture. In this case, we are talking about a graphics core with 8 execution units (Compute Units) operating at a frequency of 1.9 GHz.

According to the Italian Amazon, the equipment of the laptop includes one HDMI connector, one LAN, two USB 3.1 Type-A, one USB 2.0 Type-A, and USB 3.2 Type-C, as well as a combined audio jack.

The page with this new product was active at the time of writing, but the status says “the product is not available”. It is possible that the described Acer laptop will be announced in early January 2021 as part of the international electronics exhibition CES and will go on sale next spring or summer.
