The Chinese company Xiaomi often actively updates the version of the operating system in its smartphones. She does this not so fast as in the case with the firmware update, but more quickly than many other manufacturers. Annoying delays also occur. For example, this time the owners of Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 were out of luck.
The smartphone was announced at the end of August 2019 in China and went on sale in the fall with the pre-installed Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and MIUI 10 shell. Now the model runs on MIUI 11 and the Android 9.0 Pie OS. The other day it became known that the Chinese company has no plans in the near future to release the Android 10 operating system for its bestseller.
Android 10 will come to Redmi Note 8 only as part of MIUI 12 software. This model will receive the latest firmware version at the second stage of software distribution, i.e. around the end of the third quarter of this year. In this case, the shell will initially be built on the basis of the Android 9.0 Pie operating system. But Android 10 will come with a separate update towards the end of 2020.
Recall that Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 is equipped with the Snapdragon 665 mobile platform paired with 3-6 GB of RAM. The drive has a capacity of 32-128 GB, depending on the version. Also on board there is a 4000 mAh battery with 18-watt fast charging, a 13-megapixel front camera, a main camera with a resolution of 48 megapixels + 8 megapixels + 2 megapixels + 2 megapixels and an IPS screen of FHD + format, whose diagonal is 6.3 inches.
