App Store’s head of developer relations left Apple, where he worked since 2001
Ron Okamoto, head of developer relations at the App Store, has retired. Bloomberg writes about this concerning a source familiar with the situation. Susan Prescott, head of marketing, is believed to have taken over.
The rumors are backed up by court documents appearing in an upcoming lawsuit between Epic Games and Apple. In them, Okamoto is named a former Apple employee. It is claimed that he can talk about the App Store policy, the business model of the service, and the agreements of the company with third-party developers.
Okamoto has worked at Apple since 2001. Steve Jobs hired him as vice president of developer relations. Before that, he worked at Adobe Inc. The veteran of the company helped oversee the app review process and oversaw the creation of sales tools. Besides, he was in charge of the forums, technical support for developers in the App Store, and much more.
