Apple Devices Coming Soon to Support Xbox Series X Controller

Apple and Microsoft are working to add controller support for the Xbox Series X to Apple devices. This became known from the Apple support page, discovered by a user of Reddit.

The support page states that Apple devices only support Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, Xbox Adaptive Controller, PlayStation DualShock 4 Wireless Controller, and a few others. However, the small print indicates that Microsoft and Apple are working together to make the Xbox Series X controller compatible with Apple devices in future software updates. Support for game controllers improves game control, Apple TV navigation, and more.

There is no mention of Sony’s DualSense controllers from PlayStation 5  or Amazon Luna Controller on the support page, but MacRumors found them in the code for the iPad OS and iOS 14.3 beta versions. So work is also underway to support them, but it will probably be completed later.
