Apple, the virtual Worldwide Developers Conference will take place starting June 22

Apple has announced that the Worldwide Developers Conference will be held starting June 22 and will be available for free to all developers via the Apple Developer app and on the Apple Developer site.

As confirmed last March, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will “air” exclusively in streaming. Apple also announced the Swift Student Challenge, an opportunity for students to demonstrate their coding skills.

The WWDC20, now in its 31st edition, will offer developers the opportunity to touch the news of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS, as well as having the opportunity to interact with Apple engineers.

These are the words of Phil Schiller, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing:

“WWDC20 will be the biggest edition in our history; for an entire week in June, it will bring together our global community of over 23 million developers in an unprecedented format, which will be projected into the future of Apple platforms. We look forward to meeting all our online developers in June and sharing with them the new tools we’ve been working on to help them create even more amazing apps and services. We can’t wait to share more details on WWDC20 as we get closer to the event “

From today, until 8:59 CET on May 18, students from all over the world will be able to submit their candidacy for the Swift Student Challenge by creating an interactive scene in a Swift playground to run within three minutes. The winners will receive a WWDC20 jacket + pin set.
