Apple MacBook shipments are expected to reach 15.5 million units in 2020, up 23.1% year-on-year, according to TrendForce. The main reason for this growth is the increased demand for laptops due to the pandemic.

Also, according to the forecast, the new line of notebooks based on the SoC Apple system will allow Apple to increase shipments to a record level next year. TrendForce estimates there will be up to 17.1 million Mac notebooks shipped in 2021. At the same time, the annual growth will exceed 10%.

TrendForce notes that while the new 13.3-inch MacBook Air is priced the same as the old one, it looks much more attractive in terms of power consumption and battery life thanks to Apple’s new Silicon M1 platform. In addition, new features in Apple’s Silicon M1 and macOS Big Sur will continue to improve the interaction between Apple products and the user experience.

The Apple M1 initially received the new 13.3-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. The 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros are also expected to use the new platform next year.

Global notebook shipments next year are forecast to grow 1.9%, according to TrendForce, making Apple one of the best results on the market.
