Apple plans to launch Apple One subscription packages in September

Apple has many services with a paid subscription, and now the company wants to bundle them together. According to Bloomberg, citing its informants, the company is preparing a series of packages that are currently being named internally within Apple One. They will offer multiple Apple services at a reduced monthly price.

The cheapest will reportedly include Apple Music and Apple TV +, followed by more expensive options that will add Apple Arcade, Apple News +, and, finally, expanded iCloud cloud storage. There is also a version that will include a Peloton-style virtual fitness service codenamed Seymour, according to Bloomberg.

The composition of each package may still change before launch. However, Bloomberg sources are confident that Apple One packages will support Family Sharing, allowing up to six people to use one subscription. According to Bloomberg, the new packages are slated to launch alongside the iPhone 12 series in October. The next version of the mobile operating system iOS 14 will be able to recommend the best packages based on user preferences.

The Cupertino company currently offers the following subscription services: Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV +, Apple News +, iCloud, Apple Care, and the iPhone Upgrade Program. The company has tried several different schemes to increase the number of users over the years. For example, you can get a one-year subscription to Apple TV + simply by purchasing any new Apple device.

Service packages have a certain meaning. Amazon has had great success with Prime, which combines faster shipping with countless other services including Prime Video, Prime Music, and the recently renamed Prime Gaming. Most people don’t subscribe to all Apple services. And packages, in theory, could encourage them to increase their overall spending and try services they didn’t use.
