Apple releases third beta of iOS 14 to developers

Apple today released the third beta of iOS 14 and iPad OS 14 to developers. Recall that the Californian tech giant presented the second beta version of its mobile platforms just two weeks ago. Users registered with the Apple Development Program can receive updates now.

iOS 14 redefined the home screen of Apple’s mobile operating system for the first time in a long time. It is now possible to place widgets on it, the size of which can be selected from the three available options. In addition, the so-called “Application Library” appeared, in which all the software installed on a smartphone is displayed in the form of a list, sorted in alphabetical order.

The changes affected almost all functions of the operating system. The incoming call window now does not occupy the entire screen, as it used to be, but is displayed as a small banner at the top of the display, which does not interfere with the work with the smartphone. Siri also does not capture the entire screen but is content with a small window. The Health app has a long-awaited sleep tracking feature.

As for the third beta version of the operating system released today, Apple says performance improvements and fixes found in previous builds. In any case, all changes in iOS 14 and iPad OS 14 Beta 3 will become known within a few days, after the updates are sufficiently researched.

Please be reminded that this software is released by Apple for developers and is not guaranteed to be stable in daily use. Therefore, it is not recommended to install iOS 14 and iPad OS 14 on your main device.
