Apple rumored to release iMac in August with fresh hardware and old design

Reputable insider Jon Prosser, whose information has been repeatedly confirmed, denied rumors that Apple will unveil new iMac computers this week. The rumors were sparked by a delay in shipments of the California digital giant’s current branded all-in-ones.

Prosser was laconic. He only said that the updated iMac will go on sale in August while retaining the familiar design. Recall that in the near future, a radical redesign of Apple computers is expected, as a result of which the iMac will acquire features similar to the current models of the iPad Pro tablet.

Earlier, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple plans to update the iMac with Intel processors in the third quarter of this year before releasing all-in-ones with its own ARM processors. Kuo did not say if the updated iMac with Intel will come out in the current design, or get an already redesigned appearance.

John Prosser and Ming-Chi Kuo agree that the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro will be Apple’s first in-house processor-based computer. From this, we can conclude that the range of Apple computers with their own ARM chips this year will be quite extensive.

Recall that during the WWDC 2020 developers conference Apple announced that within two years it plans to completely transfer its computers to processors of its own design, abandoning Intel solutions.
