Apple smartwatches can save even more lives. The new feature combines Medical ID and Emergency SOS

Now Apple Watch has a Medical ID function that displays the “medical identification card” of the user, and this can be done even on a locked watch. It is understood that doctors can do this if the owner of the watch is unconscious.

In iOS, there is an Emergency SOS function that allows you to quickly call the rescue service – just hold the button on your watch or smartphone for a certain time.

According to the source, in iOS 13.5 and watchOS 6.2.5 it will be possible to combine these functions. That is, in the event that a person is in an emergency and needs medical assistance when the Emergency SOS function is activated, the rescue service will not only receive a call but also immediately receive information with a Medical ID, which in certain cases can help physicians better respond to the situation.

Already, a new feature is available in beta versions of iOS 13.5 and watchOS 6.2.5. Final versions of the software will be released during this month.
