He loses significantly in the AnTuTu benchmark to flagships on the same platform
With the release of the new low-cost second-generation iPhone SE, many rejoiced at the opportunity to get performance at the level of the most expensive iPhone 11 Pro Max at an affordable price. However, it was not so simple.
Apple suspected of deliberately slowing down budget iPhone SE
Indeed, for the second-generation iPhone SE, Apple promises the same A13 Bionic platform as the entire line of the iPhone 11. However, the results of the AnTuTu benchmark, which appeared on the network, indicate a catch.
AnTuTu’s results, to put it mildly, disappointed fans of the iPhone SE. The smartphone was not able to overcome the milestone of 500,000 points, which exceeds all iPhone 2019 release.
Judging by the results, the new CPU and GPU performance are closer to the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, based on the A12 Bionic. The only thing that corresponds to the iPhone 11 family in performance and significantly outperforms the iPhone XS line is the memory, which scored 77,968 points.
Based on this, a logical conclusion or explanation suggests itself – Apple has deliberately limited the performance of the iPhone SE platform to extend battery life.
But even in this “limited” form, the new product’s performance is higher than that of other smartphones in the same price category and taking into account the low resolution of the screen, such results should make it possible to cope with a very high frame rate.
