The patent, titled “Electronic Device with a Biometric Sensor System in a Button,” explains how to integrate a fingerprint sensor into the side buttons of Apple Watch and how it can improve the user experience. It’s no secret that at the moment you need to use a password to unlock your device. Biometric authentication will allow Apple to provide a higher level of security when using Apple Watch.

The second patent is called “Electronic device with a two-level display.” He describes the possibility of integrating a camera and flash under the watch display. The patent also mentions smartphones, but the focus is on smartwatches. The principle of operation of this technology lies in the fact that the display consists of an inner layer used to display visual information, and an outer layer formed by a light modulator, which can be switched to transparent mode.
