The app is intended for adults aged 22 and over who may have nightmares due to post-traumatic stress disorder
The new Apple Watch app has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The app is called Nightware, and it uses sensors on the Apple Watch to track heart rate and body movements. Also, this application should help with sleep disorders due to nightmares.
Apple Watch can now fight nightmares
The app is intended for adults aged 22 and over who may have nightmares due to post-traumatic stress disorder. The watch tracks your sleep cycle as well as your heart rate and body movements using proprietary algorithms. When the app detects an abnormal heart rate and body movement, it recognizes the nightmare and tells your Apple Watch to vibrate to relieve stress.
The FDA says that when you are stressed and have nightmares, you should not use only Nightware. Patients need additional medications and treatments for nightmares caused by PTSD. In addition, it states that the application should also be used under medical supervision.
The FDA also warns that people with sleepwalking and violent behavior should refrain from using it.
