Apple Watch discharges too quickly, Apple acknowledged the problem

The fix will be added to a future watchOS update.

Apple released the updated watchOS 10.1 software platform for its Apple Watch smartwatch at the end of October. After the release, numerous user complaints began to appear online about excessive battery consumption and too rapid discharge.

The problem turned out to be quite widespread and affects both the newest Apple Watch Ultra 2 and honored veterans like the Apple Watch Series 5. Here is one such complaint:

WatchOS 10.1 is draining my Apple Watch battery. From 100% to 50% in less than 60 minutes.

Apple is aware of the problem and is already working to fix it. An internal corporate note says the issue will be fixed in a watchOS update coming “soon.” The company did not name the reasons for its occurrence.
