Frequency increased by 7.5%
Intel continues to optimize its drivers to make Arc graphics cards perform better. However, the latest driver, as it turned out, makes at least one Arc model faster not at all due to optimizations, but through banal overclocking.
Arc A380 runs at higher frequencies after driver update
The latest Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.4644 brings a lot of improvements. For example, in Overwatch 2 performance increased by up to 45%. However, Neowin tests showed that in the case of the budget adapter Arc A380, undeclared overclocking of the GPU takes place. After updating the driver, the core frequency increased by 150 MHz on its own, up to 2150 MHz.
This is not very much, but for the already not very high frequency of the Arc A380, this corresponds to 7.5%. Accordingly, the Arc A380 video card in all games should receive a noticeable, although not huge, performance increase only due to overclocking, and in a number of games due to software optimization.
