It is designed for the processor performed by LGA1200
ASRock Rack introduced the W480M WS microATX motherboard with the LGA1200 socket, designed to build workstations. In the exterior of the novelty, the classic green color and simple aluminum radiators on the system logic chip and voltage regulators are noteworthy.
ASRock Rack W480M WS is designed for workstations
The board on the Intel W480 chipset is designed not only for all 10th generation Core processors (Comet Lake) but also for the Xeon W-1200 series processors. In particular, this includes memory support with ECC. The board has a 24-pin ATX power connector, an 8-pin, and 4-pin EPS connectors. The processor power subsystem is built on a six-phase scheme. Two more channels of the power controller are allocated memory.
The ASRock Rack W480M WS includes a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, an open PCIe 3.0 x8 slot (these two slots share 16 PCIe processor lines), and an open PCIe 3.0 x4 slot that is connected to the chipset. For the storage subsystem, there are two M.2-2280 slots with a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface in each and eight SATA 6 Gb /s sports, one of which is capable of providing power to the SATA DOM module. The board is equipped with two 1 GbE ports. The sound subsystem is based on the ALC892 codec. The source notes a large number of 4-pin PWM connectors for fans, allowing the board to be used in 2U chassis designed for rack mounting. The manufacturer does not name the price of the board.
