Assassin’s Creed Valhalla doubles Odyssey in number of players on launch day

French publisher Ubisoft in a fresh press release has shared information about the first successes of its new pseudo-historical action movie in the open-world – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

On the day of the launch of Assassin’s Creed, Valhalla demonstrated “outstanding” user activity: on November 10, the project recorded twice as many players than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey could boast of on release.

On top of that, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla surpassed any other Ubisoft development at launch in terms of audience reach and viewer engagement on Twitch and YouTube. No figures were given.

Ubisoft does not intend to stop there: the French publisher believes that the positive trend will continue as sales of next-generation consoles increase.

“We are flattered by the reaction of the players and incredibly proud of what our teams have achieved with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, based on the amazing successes of its predecessors,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

The head of Ubisoft also called Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s almost one-time release on seven target platforms “an incredible achievement” and expressed confidence that the game will become one of the main hits of the holiday season.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was released on November 10 on PC (Uplay, Epic Games Store), PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and today, November 12, it reached PS5. On Metacritic, the project was awarded from 81 to 85 points.
