There is very little left before 4 GHz
Modern GPUs are capable of operating at very high frequencies. This applies to both reference indicators and overclocking. The recently released Asus GeForce RTX 4090 ROG Matrix graphics card set a new GPU frequency record – 3945 MHz!

The record was set by the overclocker Splave, using liquid nitrogen, of course. At the same time, the previous record was only slightly lower – 3930 MHz, but then the Colorful iGame LAB video card was used. Given that the Asus adapter has just come out, it is possible that other records will be set using such a card. But whether the RTX 4090 will be able to reach the coveted 4 GHz is still difficult to say.
Recall that the reference frequencies of the RTX 4090 are 2230-2520 MHz, but for modern video cards these values are only indicative.
