Atomic Heart developers have published a detailed backstory of the game and shared new screenshots
The Russian studio Mundfish has reformatted its official website, thanks to which the portal has new information about the upcoming shooter Atomic Heart. The developers have published a page with a detailed background of the game and shared fresh screenshots. Some of them were not featured in the recent leak.
The published footage overwhelmingly demonstrates battles: the main character fights against robots and various monsters, using a shotgun, pistol, and melee blunt weapons. Some opponents were shown in previous trailers, but there are new ones in the screenshots: a mutated man with growths and a split head. Several images also show locations: rooms with unknown plants and water structures, a hall with exhibits, and so on.
As for the prehistory of Atomic Heart, it starts in 1937, when Professor Dmitry Sechenov starts working on the “Crowd Man” project to create a new formation person. Then it tells how in 1939, the USSR entered the Second World War on the side of Poland and defeated Nazi Germany in two years. In 1948, a neural network “Collective 1.0” was launched on the territory of the Soviet Union, and the state became the main supplier of robots to European countries. Further, it is reported about a trip to the moon, several scientific discoveries, and preparations for the launch of “Team 2.0”.
Atomic Heart has been announced for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S. No release date has been announced.
