The general director of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, Adil Shirinov, in an interview with Kommersant, said when automatic gearboxes will again appear in the company’s cars.
“We will restore the automatic transmission by 2024,” said Adil Shirinov.
Previously, an automatic transmission was installed in the “Patriot” and “Pickup”, which received the French six-speed automatic transmission Punch Powerglide 6L50.
At the moment, UAZ has suspended accepting orders for the “Patriot” and “Pickup” with an automatic transmission, indicating on the website that they are “temporarily unavailable for order.”
Previously, UAZ “Patriot” with automatic transmission could be ordered in three trim levels: “Comfort Automatic”, “Luxe Automatic” and “Luxe Premium Automatic” at prices ranging from 1,935,000 to 2,140,000 rubles. UAZ “Pickup” with automatic transmission was offered in two versions at a price of 2,025,000 to 2,240,000 rubles.
In the same interview, Adil Shirinov said that Sollers does not exclude the possibility of transferring UAZ vehicles to a new platform created with the help of a technology partnership.
