Paint applied to bodies with defects
After the manufacturers of imported enamels BASF and PPG left Russia, the color palette of AvtoVAZ cars was reduced to almost one color – white. Now the company is gradually trying to solve the problem, but it doesn’t always work out well the first time. The Telegram channel “Autostream” writes about this.
AvtoVAZ painted twenty Niva SUVs in three new colors – the entire batch was “wasted”
“ According to insider information, AvtoVAZ recently, in an effort to expand the color palette of cars, tested 20 Niva Legend bodies with Chinese paints and varnishes in new shades (Platinum, Coriander, Borneo). The paint on the Niva’s body was defective, so the entire trial batch was “wasted ,” reports Autopotok.
At the same time, the same paint worked well on the Granta and Vesta models – several cars were assembled in the Platinum color.
Problems with the paint still remain, but with ABS everything has already been resolved: serial production of Niva Legend and Niva Travel with a Russian-made anti-lock brake system has begun.
