The price increase will be significantly less than the forecasted inflation
AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov confirmed in an interview with RIA Novosti that prices for Lada cars will rise next year. However, he immediately clarified that the price increase would be significantly less than the forecasted inflation.
Answering the question about what the prices for the company’s cars will be in 2023, Maxim Sokolov stated the following: “So far, we have set prices to rise less than inflation … There are fewer inflation forecasts, and significantly less.”
The Central Bank predicts inflation next year at the level of 5-7%. The Ministry of Economic Development adheres to an estimate of 5.5%
The last time AvtoVAZ massively raised prices for its cars in March of this year, when they increased by 42-159 thousand rubles. In August, the Lada Largus model went up in price, in September and November, respectively, the prices for the three-door LADA Niva Legend in the basic configuration and the pre-top version of the LADA Niva Travel SUV called Black increased accordingly.
Maxim Sokolov also provided additional details about the cars that will be produced at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg. There will be at least three new models, and they will be more expensive than the existing line .
The head of AvtoVAZ also confirmed that next year the company plans to produce up to 10,000 brand new Lada cars at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg.
